Dr. Matthew Bargo
Veterinarian/Owner
Dr. Matthew Bargo grew up in Kentucky and attended Eastern Kentucky University for his undergraduate degree. He got his Master’s from the University of Kentucky, and from there he went to Auburn University for his degree in Veterinarian medicine. He loves to spend time outdoors with his son. Dr. Bargo bought the practice in April of 2022.
Dr. Leia Hawkins
DVM
Dr. Leia Hawkins graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. She grew up in Lincoln, AL, and currently lives in Holly Pond, AL, with her husband, John, and son, Rhett. She has three cats and two dogs and enjoys spending time with her family in her free time.
Dr. Leah Scott
DVM
Dr. Leah Scott grew up in Boaz, AL. She went to the University of Alabama for her undergraduate degree in Biology where she also double minored in the Blount Scholars Program and psychology. She then obtained a Master’s degree in Immunology from Auburn University. After that, she went on to graduate from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine with her DVM in 2017. Dr. Scott returned to northeast Alabama to settle in Huntsville and begin practicing medicine. Her favorite aspects of being a veterinarian are surgery, educating on the importance of preventative medicine, and forming close relationships with clients and their pets. She and her husband, Tyler, live with two amazing mutts (Chuck and Ernie) along with a sassy cat (Jane). When she is not at the clinic, you can usually find Dr. Scott working out, always attempting to travel more, watching football, or enjoying a good book!
John Windsor
Licensed Veterinary Technician/Manager
John is a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of science in Veterinary Technology Class of 2022. He obtained his license in the state of Alabama and has been working with us since. He is currently attending classes and hoping to finish his application and attend vet school!
Emily Wilbourn
Technician Assistant
Emily has been a Veterinarian assistant for 4 years now, and is currently enrolled in Penn Foster’s program for Veterinary Technicians! At home, she has two children Eva and Jackson. Emily is known as the cat whisperer not only here but at home too with her 8 cats! She also has one dog, a Pomeranian named Spike that comes to work with her every day. She enjoys spending time with her family and practicing her photography!
Hannah Duck-Mason
Technician Assistant/Social Media Coordinator
Hannah has been with us for 2 years now as a student tech and as our social media coordinator. Hannah is currently enrolled in Jefferson State’s program for Veterinarian Technologists. She is expected to graduate in December 2024. Her favorite part about working here is helping in surgery, running diagnostics, the puppies, and how the team feels like family. Hannah has 5 fur babies, a Shih Tzu, a Pitbull, a Yorkipoo, a Mixed breed, and a Maltipoo.
Michelle McAnnally
Head Receptionist/Manager
As a young kid, Michelle has always had a love for animals. She has been in the Veterinary field for 16 years. She currently lives in Arab, AL, with her husband, Chris, and their daughters, Lydia and Shelby. She also has two fur babies named Reese and Kacy.
Breana Best
Receptionist
Breana recently joined our team. She lives in Arab, AL, with her husband Kenyon and has 5 fur babies, two corgis, and 3 cats. She has been working in the vet field for over a year now and it’s truly her calling. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves horror films and going out for sushi. If you can’t find, she’s probably wherever the animals are.
Amber Bailey
Technician Assistant
Amber has always had a passion for animals since she was young. When she was a little girl she always wanted to grow up to be a veterinarian! Amber has worked in the veterinary field for about 6 months and has fallen in love with it. She plans to go back to school to be a Veterinary Technician and go on to become a veterinarian. Whenever Amber is not working, you can find her hanging with her dog Scrapp, going for a run, watching her favorite tv shows, or hanging out with her friends!
Heather Crandall
Receptionist
Heather recently joined our team. Heather has worked in the veterinary field for over 12 years and has a deep understanding of the importance of exceptional client care. With a passion for animals and a commitment to providing top-notch customer service, Heather is a great addition to our team, helping to make every visit to our clinic a positive and stress-free experience.
